“~nagara” is use for combining 2 actions into one sentence
Example 1
Drinking Beer – Bi-ru o (nomu)nonde imasu
Watching Television – Terebi o (miru)mite imasu
I am drinking beer while watching television – Biru o nominagara, terebi o mite imasu
Meaning : Bi-ru (Beer), Terebi (Television)
Example 2
Singing a Song – Uta o (utau)utatte imasu
Walking – (Aruku)Aruite imasu
I am singing a song while walking – Uta o utainagara, aruite imasu
Meaning : Uta (Song), Utau (Sing), Aruku (Walk)

It is important to note that kiru is only for wearing things on the top part of your body, below your neck and above your waist.
For wearing pants panties shoes or socks you need to use haku, and for things on your head (like a hat) Kaburu. For glasses you use kakeru, for neckties/bowties shimeru, and for accessories you use suru (shite imasu)

@hikari my prof is japanese, she said that for present tense one usually use te form of the verb +iru, or english progressive (-ing)
while for future we use the dictionary form of the verb
ex the cat that i have- watashi ga kau neko -future
the cat that i have (am having)-watashi ga kaitte neko -present
Japanese dont have future tense so it is lot clearer this way of whether or not one talks of present or future ^_^
